With the development of medicine, average life span has increased. At the same time, the importance of quality of life is
being magnified as a hot issue. In most cases, tooth loss, a consequence of oral diseases, affects Oral Health-Related
Quality of Life (OHRQoL). The aim of this study is to review the literatures and to analyze the relationships between the
number and location of missing or residual teeth and OHRQoL. This study suggests that tooth loss is associated with the
impairment of OHRQoL deeply and that the location and distribution of tooth loss affect the severity of the impairment.
